Our Wedding

Some love stories begin over dinner or drinks — ours began in the back of a crowded college kitchen on Lowes Street in Dayton, Ohio. Maggie and Jack first met in 2018 at the University of Dayton. Jack walked into a Dayton house party, spotted Maggie, and after some liquid courage decided to spark up a conversation. The connection was instant and they ended up talking all night, squeezed into the back of a noisy, overpacked kitchen. Between the sticky floors and music, they realized they were both from Columbus and had grown up just 15 minutes apart from one another. What started as casual small talk quickly turned into an undeniable connection. That summer, they both headed back home to Columbus. Not long after, Jack asked Maggie out on their first official date for some afternoon tacos (the quickest way to Maggie’s heart). One date turned into many, and by the end of summer Jack realized he didn’t want to do life without her. Just days before Jack left to study abroad in Madrid for 5 months, he asked Maggie to be his girlfriend. Even though they’d only recently started dating, Maggie decided to take a leap (and a week off school) to visit Jack in Spain. That trip quickly became one of their all-time favorite memories – filled with tapas, sightseeing, and 10:00PM dinners. From that point on, their connection and love only continued to grow stronger. They navigated college life together, supported each other through their first jobs and grad school, and six years later moved into their first apartment together in Chicago, IL.Then came October 18th, 2024. Jack told Maggie they were heading to his “work party” on the rooftop of The Old Post Office in downtown Chicago. But when they arrived, the rooftop was completely empty. Before Maggie could piece it all together, Jack got down on one knee and popped the question — and she of course said yes! She was then surprised with her family and friends who flew in for an engagement party at one of her favorite Chicago bars, Corcorcan’s! Now they're planning a wedding and their future together and could not be more excited to celebrate their love with all of you!

Budd Dairy Food Hall - One of our go-to spots! The first floor has so many yummy food vendors, and the 2nd/3rd floor have amazing bars with great drinks!

Lincoln Social - Great rooftop bar in the heart of Short North! If you're looking for good cocktails with rooftop vibes this is the place to be!

Pint House - Such a fun bar in the Short North! Great for day-time drinks or late night outings!

Land-Grant Brewing Company - Brewery with great indoor and outdoor space!

Restaurants 

The Top Steakhouse- Old-school, delicious steakhouse with the BEST dirty martinis in town! Pro-Tip: Sit at the piano bar!

Lindey's - Maggie and Jack's favorite Columbus restaurant! Such good food and if you have room for dessert, you HAVE to get the post-mortem!

NorthStar - a great option for a delicious healthy brunch or lunch! They have two locations - the Short North and Easton

Forno - the yummiest pizzas and pasta, located in the Short North! Also with a great happy hour!

Condado Tacos - perfect for casual tacos and margs! Also where we had our first date &lt;3 They have a location in Easton and downtown!

Columbus Brewing Company Beer Hall - local brewery with great bar food! Also has an amazing patio with fire pits

Things to do in between ceremony/reception

*There will be a short ~1.5 hour break in between the Ceremony and Reception. The drive from the Church to Statehouse is 15 minutes. Here are some recommendations that are a short walk from the Statehouse: Bars to grab a quick drink:-Hotel Leveque Bar-Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails-Buckeye Bourbon House-The Citizens Trust Coffee:-Brioso Coffee-Restoration Roastery-Starbucks at the Hotel Leveque Statehouse tours will be available prior to Cocktail Hour.
